The DIY Community Skate Park

During the first lockdown, skaters in Dulwich, southeast London, built their own skatepark, called The Grove DIY, on the site of an old car park of an abandoned pub. It’s where photographer Freddie Payne would “nip down to when I needed a surge of inspiration”, as these resulting images taken by him can attest. And since then, there's been another new development. Tucked just behind the skatepark is a small woodland now home to The Grove Community Garden, a volunteer-run garden started by two of the skaters with some juicy tomatoes in 2021. Look up its GoFundMe campaign to help boost the project.
